The Western North Carolina Fly Fishing Trail: a local project that is attracting national attention. The trail connects anglers with 15 prime fishing locations across beautiful Jackson County, and is the first fly fishing trail in the United States.
Your Guide, Alex Bell, helped develop the trail! In 2009, the Jackson County Tourism Authority asked Alex to help develop the trail. He readily agreed to the project and served as a co-creator of the trail. The initiative sought to connect more anglers with the waters Alex loves. Alex guides clients on many of the outstanding trout waters on the Western North Carolina Fly Fishing Trail. He also speaks with clubs and organizations about the process of creating the trail.
